Luisa Cevese

Born in Milano.

Self taught designer, interested in textile and art, from 1978 to 1983 she visited and lived in London, the U.S. and Mexico.

Since 1984 she has designed textiles sold to fashion and interior designers and textile firms, advertising companies, interior and accessories stores, such as: De Padova, Gallia e Peter, J. W. Thompson, Diego Della Valle, Dolce&Gabbana, Romeo Gigli, Bonotto, Maharam, Hermès, Chanel, Comme des Garçons.

From 1988 to 1993, she was Head of Research at Centro Ricerche Mantero, Como, Italy.

From 1993 to 1995 she has been in charge of special projects, such as internships and competitions for international arts and design schools, at Mantero Seta.

She also lectured in arts and design schools and in conferences in Italy and abroad.

In 1996 she founded Luisa Cevese Riedizioni, the brand name of a line of textiles and products made out of the combination of primarily textile industrial waste and polyurethane.

Luisa Cevese Riedizioni collection has been shown and is sold in fashion and design stores, contemporary art museum stores and galleries around the world.
